3 Wheel Double Buggy

Our tester Claire was impressed by the clean packaging, easy-to-open and deemed it to be one of the fastest and most simple pieces of baby equipment to put together. She took it to explore the rough terrain and was thrilled with its performance.
Seats
Most 3 wheel double buggies are initially single pushchairs, although some can convert to take an additional seat or carrycot using adapters (these are more commonly found in tandem buggies). Some models allow you to add an extra board to older kids who are ready to walk, but still require a little help.
For a lightweight option that is ideal for city streets, check out the Joie Evalite Duo. It is easy to maneuver and comes with a large basket with lots of storage. It can hold twins from birth and will accommodate two car seats or an infant carrycot and seat. The seats must be facing toward the forward direction and there isn't space to store a shopping bag under the seat. You will require a sidepack.
If you're looking to travel off-road then the Mountain Buggy Duet is a great choice. It's a side-by- side model with the most compact footprint of any double buggy on the market. This allows it to squeeze through doors that are narrow and on public transport and also allows you to go up and down kerbs without much trouble. It also has a handbrake on the handlebar that can be adjusted for more security and safety.
Another option that is light weight is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double it can be used for twins or a baby and toddler. The seats feature multi-position reclining and UPF 50+ sunshades, and the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun out of your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can be converted into a triple by adding UPPAbaby’s "PiggyBack" board for older children.
The iCandy Orange double buggies are one of the most sought-after available. This is due to their exceptional comfort. It is a true all-terrain pushchair with a soft suspension to make smooth work of bumpy surfaces. It comes with 30 different seating options, a built-in board for older children who like to walk, and a 'cinema mode' that raises the back seat for better visibility.
The phil&teds dot is a brilliant single buggy from day 1 which is then able to take 2 (or 3!) in multiple configurations. This is especially useful if you have a baby in a car. The frame can be affixed to a wedgie that allows for the most optimal lying-flat position. Car seat adapters that can be used with many brands.
Suspension
The suspension of a double 3 wheel buggy will determine how easily your child/children and you can push it. It is important to have a smooth ride since babies feel every bump that comes along the road. This is especially the case if you're driving on rough terrain such as grass or roads that are not paved. Some models have front tires that lock to assist in maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.

Others have foam or gel tyres, which are designed to take the bumps and can be less prone to punctures but you might find them to be a bit stiff and uncomfortable on your child's back if you choose to jog.

MFM reviewer Kath put the Urban Glide 2 through its tests with her newborn and 3 years old children, and discovered that it performed admirably on difficult terrains: "it navigated effortlessly over bumpy pavements and grass, cobbles and dirt tracks easily and was able to manoeuvre around corners and climb up and down kerbs. Folding
A 3 wheel double buggy folds very easily for storage. There are models that fold flat and stand up (as as if they were the shape of a pushchair) and others that are able to open up to reveal more umbrella-style folding, with a hand-operated break. In general, the more wheels a buggy has, the easier it will be to navigate on rough terrain. This is particularly true if your wheels are bigger than the typical size. You will have more stability, and it's less likely that you will have to flip or tip your child.
The most popular model is the iCandy Wave, which can be used as early as birth with an infant car seat. It transforms into a side-by-side double buggy when your child is old enough to allow them to be seated next to each one. It's a lightweight option which makes it easy to push, and it comes full of extra features including a bumper bar and raincover.
Another alternative is the phil&teds sport that is a future-proof model because it's a fantastic single buggy right from the start and then adapts to take two (or even three!) all within its compact footprint. It features a clever 3-wheel design and the sling seat to provide better maneuverability, stability, and the ability to pop the kerb.
This is one of the most comfortable double buggies for jogging with your kids. It has a front wheel that can be locked, which will help you maintain control on hilly or off-road terrain.
